Lacson Kinastigo Si Trillanes: 'We’re Not Born Yesterday'

Senator Panfilo Lacson scoffed at Senator Antonio Trillanes IV’s remark that he only wanted the truth to come out when he helped retired Davao City policeman Arturo Lascañas against President Rodrigo Duterte.
“Pero ano ang goal? Just the truth? Come on. We were not born yesterday. All of a sudden goal mo lang is just to expose the truth?” Lacson said in an interview with reporters Monday.
“For what reason, for what purpose? And what is the objective?” he added.
Lacson, chairman of the Senate public order committee, reiterated his earlier statement that the turnaround of Lascañas to implicate Duterte in Davao City killings was meant to “destabilize” the present administration.

“Admittedly siya naman ang handler. And of course sa kanya nag-report,” said Lacson.
Lacson said he himself would know when there is a destabilization plot, as he was part of one during the administration of former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
“Sabi ko nga galing ako riyan. Naging part ako ng destab during the past administration. Not under President Aquino, before that. And I know a destabilization activity when I see one,” Lacson said.

Lacson decided to terminate the probe on Lascañas' testimony just after one hearing, saying it has "no probative value."
Trillanes earlier said he cannot be accused of destabilization because he was merely “exposing the truth.”
“8,000 na Pilipino na ang pinapatay ni Duterte pero tahimik lang kayo. Ngayon, may lumalabas na mga testigo para mag siwalat ng katotohanan, destabilization agad?” Trillanes added.
Lascañas earlier accused Duterte of being behind the killings allegedly perpetrated by the so-called Davao Death Squad. [Read full: GMAnews]
